New "FBI Election Executive" schedules call with state election officials: NBC News reports that the president has expressed his desire to take federal control of the midterm elections, and a new position with ambiguous control over state and local elections has appeared at the FBI, as the US President calls to "nationalize elections."
This follows a January 24th letter from US Attorney General Pam Bondi, demanding that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz turn state voter rolls over in exchange for a drawdown of federal forces in Minnesota, and seizure of Georgia voting records by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, as well as the President's mention of other potential target cities such as Detroit and Philadelphia. In a February 5th press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to questions about federal troops surrounding polling places by saying she can't guarantee it won't happen. ((via People Magazine)
